About Me
Julianna Ress is a pop culture journalist and critic with special interests in music, film and feminism. Her work has appeared in publications like The Ringer, E! Online, POPSUGAR and more. She graduated from San Diego State University in May 2019 with a degree in Journalism with an emphasis in Media Studies, and a minor in Television, Film and New Media. As a student, she held the position of Arts & Culture Editor for The Daily Aztec, SDSU's student-run newspaper.

Throughout her work, Julianna has interviewed musicians and bands like Kim Petras, Wussy, KT Tunstall, Anna Clendening and Sage the Gemini. Her film and music criticism has also been recognized with local and statewide awards ---- her piece "Revisiting my hometown through 'Lady Bird'" won first place in the "Best Arts/Entertainment Story" category at the 2018 California College Media Awards, and her piece "Ariana Grande, Carly Rae Jepsen deliver necessary variations of self-empowerment" won first place in the "College Media Review/Criticism" category at the Society of Professional Journalists' 2019 Journalism Awards contest.
